We all go along with this, moving through the days, weeks, and years without giving it a doubt. Here's where I vary from the rest of you. Up till September, I had been much like you. It didn't stop me from doing most things, I might stroll, run, and climb, however it did stop me from driving, which in turn stopped me from working. I signed up with the ranks of the long-term ill, continued to receive my paycheque, and sat and took it simple. The very first few weeks were fine I. managed to get all the little tasks that accumulate done. In the 3rd week, a malaise started to sneak in. I had absolutely nothing to do, nowhere to go, and loads of time to eliminate. I began to get depressed.

We have a no cigarette smoking policy in our home, implemented on the majority (me & my dad) by the minority (my mother). This means that whenever we wish to smoke, we have to stand at the back entrance. From here, you can see the entrance to our neighbour's home and the fronts of 2 homes across the street. After smoking nearly continuously when the depression set in, I started to notice the comings and goings of individuals in the street. I started to detect when the mums strolled their kids to school when they returned when they went out shopping, when they took the pet dog for a walk, and when they sat in the garden. With absolutely nothing else to do, my mind filed away the routine times and I would find myself unconsciously having a cigarette when these ladies went about their day-to-day regimens.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with most of the people who stroll past your home. I began with a friendly hi and advanced to the point where I normally stroll down to the garden gate and have a chat. Many people would interrupt me now, and state that a lot of ladies in your home do what I do, stop and talk with the other women. I have 2 replies. One, I'm male, and two, you do not know the half of all of it. I believe it's time I provided you a total image of our street and individuals who live on it. It will come in helpful later on. It's a really small street, 8 semi-detached homes and 1 detached (that's 5 buildings in all). Down the left side (as you stand at the top of the street) there is a vacant house, and after that next to that is. Next up is Graham's home, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's home, she's a huge Irish lady in her 60's. Last on this website is the separated home where Steve and Mandy live with their 2 teenage boys.

On the right-hand side of the roadway, we start with Linda's home. She recently separated from her hubby and is in the procedure of moving. She is in her mid 30's and has two pre-teen children Emma and Becky. Next is our home. I haven't presented myself yet, so now would be a great time. I'm John (28 ), and I deal with my mum Chrissie (45) and papa Bob (52 ). Next along are some newcomers. I never spoke to him, despite the fact that what I'm about to tell you, so this is the last time I mention him.
