We have a no cigarette smoking policy in our house, implemented on the bulk (me & my father) by the minority (my mom). This indicates that whenever we wish to smoke, we have to stand at the back door. From here, you can see the entrance to our neighbour's home and the fronts of two houses across the street. After smoking nearly constantly when the anxiety set in, I began to discover the comings and goings of individuals in the street. I began to detect when the mums walked their kids to school when they came back when they headed out shopping, when they took the pet dog for a walk, and when they sat in the garden. With absolutely nothing else to do, my mind filed away the routine times and I would discover myself unconsciously having a cigarette when these females set about their day-to-day regimens.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with the majority of the people who walk past the house. I began with a friendly hi and advanced to the point where I normally stroll down to the garden gate and have a chat. Most people would disrupt me now, and say that most ladies at home do what I do, stop and chat with the other women. I have two replies. Then last on this site is the removed home where Steve and Mandy cope with their two teenage children. They are in their late 30's.

On the right-hand side of the road, we begin with Linda's house. Next is our home. Last on the row was a chap who worked somewhere in the City.
