We have a no cigarette smoking policy in our home, implemented on the bulk (me & my dad) by the minority (my mother). This suggests that whenever we wish to smoke, we need to stand at the back entrance. From here, you can see the entrance to our neighbour's house and the fronts of two houses across the street. After smoking cigarettes almost continually when the depression set in, I began to discover the comings and goings of individuals in the street. I started to pick up on when the mums strolled their kids to school when they returned when they headed out shopping, when they took the dog for a walk, and when they sat in the garden. With nothing else to do, my mind filed away the regular times and I would find myself subconsciously having a cigarette when these women tackled their everyday regimens.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with most of the individuals who walk past the house. I started with a friendly hello and progressed to the point where I generally stroll down to the garden gate and have a chat. A lot of individuals would disrupt me now, and state that the majority of ladies at home do what I do, talk and stop with the other females. It's a really little street, 8 semi-detached homes and 1 detached (that's 5 structures in all). Down the left side (as you stand at the top of the street) there is a vacant house, and then beside that is. Next up is Graham's home, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's house, she's a huge Irish woman in her 60's. Last on this site is the removed house where Steve and Mandy live with their 2 teenage children.

On the right-hand side of the road, we begin with Linda's home. She just recently separated from her spouse and remains in the process of moving. She remains in her mid 30's and has two pre-teen daughters Emma and Becky. Next is our house. I have not presented myself yet, so now would be a great time. I never spoke to him, despite the fact that what I'm about to tell you, so this is the last time I mention him.
