We all go along with this, moving through the days, weeks, and years without giving it a second thought. Setting off to work every day, worried more about what I was going to do with the day rather than what my neighbours would be up to. We have a no cigarette smoking policy in our house, imposed on the majority (me & my father) by the minority (my mom). After smoking cigarettes practically constantly when the anxiety set in, I started to see the comings and goings of individuals in the street. I began to detect when the mums strolled their kids to school when they came back when they headed out shopping, when they took the pet for a walk, and when they sat in the garden. With nothing else to do, my mind filed away the regular times and I would find myself subconsciously having a cigarette when these females set about their day-to-day routines.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with the majority of individuals who walk past your home. I started with a friendly hello and progressed to the point where I normally stroll down to the garden gate and have a chat. Most people would interrupt me now, and state that most ladies in your home do what I do, stop and talk with the other women. I have two replies. It's a very little street, 8 semi-detached homes and 1 detached (that's 5 buildings in all). Next is Sheila's house, she's a big Irish woman in her 60's. Last on this site is the removed house where Steve and Mandy live with their two teenage kids.

On the right-hand side of the road, we begin with Linda's house. She just recently separated from her husband and remains in the process of moving. She is in her mid 30's and has 2 pre-teen daughters Emma and Becky. Next is our home. I haven't presented myself yet, so now would be a great time.
