All of us support this, moving through the days, weeks, and years without offering it a doubt. Here's where I differ from the rest of you. Up until September, I had actually been just like you. We have a no smoking cigarettes policy in our house, enforced on the majority (me & my dad) by the minority (my mother). This means that whenever we wish to smoke, we need to stand at the back entrance. From here, you can see the entryway to our neighbour's house and the fronts of 2 homes across the street. After smoking almost continually when the depression set in, I started to discover the comings and goings of the people in the street. I began to detect when the mums strolled their kids to school when they returned when they went out shopping, when they took the pet dog for a walk, and when they beinged in the garden. With absolutely nothing else to do, my mind filed away the routine times and I would find myself unconsciously having a cigarette when these ladies tackled their daily routines.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with most of the individuals who walk past the home. I began with a friendly hello and progressed to the point where I usually walk down to the garden gate and have a chat. A lot of individuals would disrupt me now, and state that most ladies at house do what I do, stop and talk with the other ladies. It's a very little street, 8 semi-detached homes and 1 detached (that's 5 buildings in all). Down the left side (as you stand at the top of the street) there is a uninhabited home, and then next to that is. where Jody lives. She's a 70 odd-year-old widower, who is constantly very first with any chatter. Next up is Graham's house, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's home, she's a huge Irish female in her 60's. Then last on this site is the detached house where Steve and Mandy cope with their two teenage kids. They remain in their late 30's.

On the right-hand side of the roadway, we start with Linda's house. She just recently separated from her hubby and is in the procedure of moving.
