All of us support this, moving through the days, weeks, and years without providing it a doubt. Here's where I vary from the rest of you. Up up until September, I had been much like you. I had absolutely nothing to do, no place to go, and loads of time to kill. I began to get depressed.

We have a no smoking cigarettes policy in our house, enforced on the majority (me & my father) by the minority (my mom). This indicates that whenever we want to smoke, we need to stand at the back door. From here, you can see the entrance to our neighbour's house and the fronts of 2 houses across the street. After cigarette smoking nearly continually when the depression set in, I started to observe the comings and goings of the people in the street. I began to detect when the mums strolled their kids to school when they came back when they headed out shopping, when they took the pet for a walk, and when they beinged in the garden. With nothing else to do, my mind filed away the routine times and I would discover myself subconsciously having a cigarette when these women set about their daily routines.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with many of the individuals who walk past the house. I began with a friendly hello and progressed to the point where I usually walk down to the garden gate and have a chat. Most people would disrupt me now, and state that most ladies at house do what I do, chat and stop with the other females. It's a really little street, 8 semi-detached homes and 1 removed (that's 5 buildings in all). Down the left side (as you stand at the top of the street) there is a uninhabited house, and after that beside that is. Next up is Graham's house, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's home, she's a huge Irish woman in her 60's. Last on this website is the detached home where Steve and Mandy live with their 2 teenage sons.

On the right-hand side of the road, we start with Linda's house. Next is our house. Last on the row was a chap who worked somewhere in the City.
