We all go along with this, moving through the days, weeks, and years without offering it a second thought. Here's where I differ from the rest of you. Up till September, I had been similar to you. Setting off to work every day, worried more about what I was going to do with the day instead of what my neighbours would be up to. Then, I developed a issue with my knee. A semi-serious issue. It didn't stop me from doing most things, I might walk, run, and climb, but it did stop me from driving, which in turn stopped me from working. I signed up with the ranks of the long-term sick, continued to get my paycheque, and sat and took it easy. The first couple of weeks were great I. managed to get all the little tasks that accumulate done. Then in the third week, a despair started to sneak in. I had nothing to do, no place to go, and loads of time to eliminate. I began to get depressed.

We have a no smoking cigarettes policy in our home, implemented on the bulk (me & my daddy) by the minority (my mom). From here, you can see the entrance to our neighbour's house and the fronts of 2 homes across the street. I began to pick up on when the mums strolled their kids to school when they came back when they went out shopping, when they took the dog for a walk, and when they sat in the garden.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with many of the people who walk past the home. I began with a friendly hello and progressed to the point where I typically stroll down to the garden gate and have a chat. Many people would disrupt me now, and state that many women at house do what I do, stop and talk with the other females. It's a really small street, 8 semi-detached houses and 1 removed (that's 5 structures in all). Down the left side (as you stand at the top of the street) there is a vacant house, and then next to that is. where Jody lives. She's a 70 odd-year-old widower, who is always very first with any chatter. Next up is Graham's home, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's home, she's a huge Irish female in her 60's. Then last on this site is the removed house where Steve and Mandy live with their 2 teenage boys. They remain in their late 30's.

On the right-hand side of the roadway, we start with Linda's home. Next is our house. Last on the row was a bloke who worked someplace in the City.
