We all support this, moving through the days, weeks, and years without giving it a reservation. Here's where I differ from the rest of you. Up until September, I had actually been much like you. We have a no cigarette smoking policy in our house, implemented on the bulk (me & my father) by the minority (my mother). This means that whenever we want to smoke, we need to stand at the back entrance. From here, you can see the entryway to our neighbour's home and the fronts of 2 homes across the street. After smoking cigarettes almost continually when the anxiety embeded in, I began to observe the comings and goings of individuals in the street. I started to detect when the mums strolled their kids to school when they came back when they headed out shopping, when they took the canine for a walk, and when they beinged in the garden. With nothing else to do, my mind filed away the routine times and I would discover myself unconsciously having a cigarette when these females went about their daily routines.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with most of the people who stroll past the house. I began with a friendly hello and advanced to the point where I generally stroll down to the garden gate and have a chat. Many individuals would disrupt me now, and say that most females at home do what I do, chat and stop with the other females. It's a very small street, 8 semi-detached homes and 1 detached (that's 5 buildings in all). Down the left side (as you stand at the top of the street) there is a uninhabited home, and then beside that is. where Jody lives. She's a 70 odd-year-old widower, who is always first with any chatter. Next up is Graham's home, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's house, she's a big Irish female in her 60's. Then last on this site is the separated house where Steve and Mandy live with their two teenage children. They are in their late 30's.

On the right-hand side of the road, we begin with Linda's house. She just recently separated from her husband and remains in the procedure of moving. She is in her mid 30's and has two pre-teen children Emma and Becky. Next is our home. I have not presented myself yet, so now would be a good time. I'm John (28 ), and I cope with my mum Chrissie (45) and dad Bob (52 ). Next along are some newbies.
