With absolutely nothing else to do, my mind filed away the regular times and I would discover myself unconsciously having a cigarette when these women set about their day-to-day routines.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with many of the people who stroll past the house. I began with a friendly hi and advanced to the point where I usually walk down to the garden gate and have a chat. Last on this site is the detached house where Steve and Mandy live with their two teenage children. They remain in their late 30's.

On the right-hand side of the roadway, we begin with Linda's home. Next is our house. Last on the row was a chap who worked somewhere in the City.
