We have a no smoking policy in our home, implemented on the majority (me & my daddy) by the minority (my mother). This means that whenever we wish to smoke, we have to stand at the back entrance. From here, you can see the entrance to our neighbour's house and the fronts of 2 houses across the street. After smoking nearly constantly when the anxiety embeded in, I started to see the comings and goings of the people in the street. I began to pick up on when the mums walked their kids to school when they came back when they went out shopping, when they took the pet for a walk, and when they beinged in the garden. With absolutely nothing else to do, my mind filed away the routine times and I would discover myself unconsciously having a cigarette when these ladies set about their everyday routines.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with many of the people who walk past the home. I began with a friendly hello and advanced to the point where I generally stroll down to the garden gate and have a chat. A lot of people would disrupt me now, and state that most women at house do what I do, talk and stop with the other ladies. It's a very little street, 8 semi-detached homes and 1 detached (that's 5 buildings in all). Down the left side (as you stand at the top of the street) there is a uninhabited home, and then beside that is. Next up is Graham's home, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's house, she's a huge Irish female in her 60's. Last on this site is the removed house where Steve and Mandy live with their two teenage children.

On the right-hand side of the road, we begin with Linda's house. She just recently separated from her husband and remains in the procedure of moving. She is in her mid 30's and has 2 pre-teen children Emma and Becky. Next is our house. I have not presented myself yet, so now would be a good time.
