After cigarette smoking almost continuously when the depression embeded in, I started to notice the comings and goings of individuals in the street. I began to pick up on when the mums walked their kids to school when they returned when they went out shopping, when they took the dog for a walk, and when they sat in the garden. With nothing else to do, my mind filed away the regular times and I would discover myself subconsciously having a cigarette when these ladies tackled their day-to-day routines.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with most of the people who stroll past the home. I began with a friendly hi and progressed to the point where I normally walk down to the garden gate and have a chat.
