We all go along with this, moving through the days, weeks, and years without offering it a 2nd idea. Setting off to work every day, worried more about what I was going to do with the day rather than what my neighbours would be up to. We have a no cigarette smoking policy in our house, implemented on the bulk (me & my dad) by the minority (my mother). This means that whenever we wish to smoke, we need to stand at the back door. From here, you can see the entryway to our neighbour's home and the fronts of 2 homes across the street. After smoking cigarettes almost continually when the depression set in, I started to observe the comings and goings of the people in the street. I started to detect when the mums walked their kids to school when they came back when they headed out shopping, when they took the pet dog for a walk, and when they beinged in the garden. With nothing else to do, my mind filed away the regular times and I would discover myself unconsciously having a cigarette when these females went about their daily regimens.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with the majority of the people who stroll past your home. I started with a friendly hey there and progressed to the point where I normally stroll down to the garden gate and have a chat. Many people would interrupt me now, and state that the majority of females in the house do what I do, stop and chat with the other women. I have 2 replies. One, I'm male, and 2, you do not understand the half of everything. I think it's time I provided you a total picture of our street and individuals who live on it. It will be available in useful later on. It's a really small street, 8 semi-detached houses and 1 separated (that's 5 buildings in all). Down the left side (as you stand at the top of the street) there is a uninhabited home, and then next to that is. Next up is Graham's house, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's home, she's a big Irish female in her 60's. Last on this site is the separated home where Steve and Mandy live with their two teenage sons.

On the right-hand side of the roadway, we start with Linda's house. Next is our house. Last on the row was a chap who worked somewhere in the City.
