All of us support this, moving through the days, weeks, and years without offering it a second thought. Here's where I differ from the rest of you. Up up until September, I had actually been much like you. Triggering to work every day, worried more about what I was going to finish with the day instead of what my neighbours would be up to. It didn't stop me from doing most things, I might stroll, run, and climb, but it did stop me from driving, and that in turn stopped me from working. I joined the ranks of the long-term ill, continued to receive my paycheque, and sat and took it easy. The first few weeks were fine I. managed to get all the little tasks that pile up done. Then in the third week, a despair began to sneak in. I had nothing to do, no place to go, and loads of time to kill. I started to get depressed.

We have a no smoking policy in our home, imposed on the majority (me & my dad) by the minority (my mother). This indicates that whenever we wish to smoke, we need to stand at the back door. From here, you can see the entryway to our neighbour's house and the fronts of 2 houses across the street. After smoking cigarettes practically continuously when the depression set in, I began to see the comings and goings of the people in the street. I began to detect when the mums walked their kids to school when they returned when they went out shopping, when they took the pet dog for a walk, and when they sat in the garden. With nothing else to do, my mind filed away the regular times and I would discover myself subconsciously having a cigarette when these females set about their everyday routines.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with many of the individuals who stroll past the home. I began with a friendly hey there and progressed to the point where I generally stroll down to the garden gate and have a chat. Most individuals would interrupt me now, and state that most females at house do what I do, talk and stop with the other ladies. It's a very small street, 8 semi-detached houses and 1 separated (that's 5 buildings in all). Down the left side (as you stand at the top of the street) there is a vacant home, and after that next to that is. Next up is Graham's house, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's house, she's a huge Irish female in her 60's. Last on this site is the separated house where Steve and Mandy live with their 2 teenage boys.

On the right-hand side of the road, we begin with Linda's house. She recently separated from her husband and is in the procedure of moving. She is in her mid 30's and has two pre-teen daughters Emma and Becky. Next is our house. I haven't presented myself yet, so now would be a great time. I'm John (28 ), and I cope with my mum Chrissie (45) and daddy Bob (52 ). Next along are some newbies. At this time in November, I didn't understand their names, so-called them Dick and Helen to myself. Of course, whenever I spoke with them, I utilized terms like a neighbour to bridge this gap in my knowledge. They were a couple, in their late 30's, early 40's, and they seemed to keep themselves to themselves. Last on the row was a bloke who worked somewhere in the City. I never ever talked to him, despite the fact that what I'm about to inform you, so this is the last time I discuss him.
