We all go along with this, moving through the days, weeks, and years without providing it a 2nd idea. Setting off to work every day, worried more about what I was going to do with the day rather than what my neighbours would be up to. After smoking cigarettes almost continuously when the anxiety set in, I began to discover the comings and goings of individuals in the street. I began to detect when the mums strolled their kids to school when they came back when they headed out shopping, when they took the pet dog for a walk, and when they beinged in the garden. With absolutely nothing else to do, my mind filed away the regular times and I would discover myself subconsciously having a cigarette when these women set about their day-to-day routines.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with most of the people who walk past the home. I began with a friendly hello and advanced to the point where I usually stroll down to the garden gate and have a chat. Many individuals would interrupt me now, and say that many females at house do what I do, chat and stop with the other females. It's a very little street, 8 semi-detached homes and 1 separated (that's 5 buildings in all). Down the left side (as you stand at the top of the street) there is a uninhabited home, and then beside that is. Next up is Graham's house, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's home, she's a big Irish lady in her 60's. Last on this site is the removed house where Steve and Mandy live with their 2 teenage sons.

On the right-hand side of the road, we start with Linda's house. Next is our house. Last on the row was a chap who worked someplace in the City.
