With nothing else to do, my mind filed away the regular times and I would find myself unconsciously having a cigarette when these women went about their day-to-day routines.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with most of the people who stroll past the house. I began with a friendly hi and advanced to the point where I usually stroll down to the garden gate and have a chat. Most people would interrupt me now, and say that many women at house do what I do, chat and stop with the other ladies. She's a 70 odd-year-old widower, who is always first with any gossip. Next up is Graham's home, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's house, she's a huge Irish woman in her 60's. Then last on this website is the detached home where Steve and Mandy deal with their 2 teenage boys. They remain in their late 30's.

On the right-hand side of the road, we begin with Linda's home. Next is our house. Last on the row was a chap who worked somewhere in the City.
