We have a no smoking policy in our house, implemented on the bulk (me & my father) by the minority (my mother). This indicates that whenever we want to smoke, we need to stand at the back entrance. From here, you can see the entryway to our neighbour's house and the fronts of 2 homes across the street. After cigarette smoking almost constantly when the depression set in, I began to observe the comings and goings of individuals in the street. I began to pick up on when the mums walked their kids to school when they returned when they headed out shopping, when they took the pet dog for a walk, and when they beinged in the garden. With absolutely nothing else to do, my mind filed away the regular times and I would find myself unconsciously having a cigarette when these females went about their daily regimens.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with the majority of individuals who walk past your house. I started with a friendly hey there and advanced to the point where I normally walk down to the garden gate and have a chat. Next is Sheila's home, she's a big Irish woman in her 60's. Last on this site is the detached home where Steve and Mandy live with their two teenage sons.

On the right-hand side of the road, we start with Linda's home. Next is our home. Last on the row was a chap who worked somewhere in the City.
