We all support this, moving through the days, weeks, and years without offering it a reservation. Here's where I differ from the rest of you. Up until September, I had been similar to you. In the third week, a malaise started to creep in. I had nothing to do, no place to go, and loads of time to eliminate. I started to get depressed.

We have a no smoking cigarettes policy in our house, implemented on the majority (me & my dad) by the minority (my mother). This means that whenever we want to smoke, we have to stand at the back entrance. From here, you can see the entrance to our neighbour's home and the fronts of 2 homes across the street. After smoking cigarettes practically continually when the depression set in, I began to observe the comings and goings of individuals in the street. I began to pick up on when the mums strolled their kids to school when they came back when they went out shopping, when they took the pet dog for a walk, and when they beinged in the garden. With nothing else to do, my mind filed away the routine times and I would discover myself unconsciously having a cigarette when these ladies tackled their daily routines.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with the majority of the people who stroll past your house. I started with a friendly hello and advanced to the point where I normally stroll down to the garden gate and have a chat. The majority of people would disrupt me now, and state that many females in the house do what I do, stop and talk with the other women. I have 2 replies. One, I'm male, and two, you do not understand the half of everything. I believe it's time I gave you a complete image of our street and individuals who reside on it. It will can be found in helpful later on. It's a very small street, 8 semi-detached houses and 1 separated (that's 5 buildings in all). Down the left side (as you stand at the top of the street) there is a vacant house, and after that next to that is. where Jody lives. She's a 70 odd-year-old widower, who is always very first with any chatter. Next up is Graham's house, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's house, she's a big Irish lady in her 60's. Then last on this site is the separated house where Steve and Mandy deal with their two teenage kids. They are in their late 30's.

On the right-hand side of the roadway, we start with Linda's house. She just recently separated from her other half and is in the procedure of moving. She remains in her mid 30's and has two pre-teen daughters Emma and Becky. Next is our house. I have not introduced myself yet, so now would be a good time. I'm John (28 ), and I live with my mum Chrissie (45) and father Bob (52 ). Next along are some newcomers. At this time in November, I didn't know their names, so-called them Dick and Helen to myself. Of course, whenever I spoke with them, I utilized terms like a neighbour to bridge this space in my understanding. They were a couple, in their late 30's, early 40's, and they appeared to keep themselves to themselves. Last on the row was a chap who worked somewhere in the City. I never talked to him, although what I'm about to inform you, so this is the last time I mention him.
