We all support this, moving through the days, weeks, and years without giving it a doubt. Here's where I differ from the rest of you. Up until September, I had been just like you. Setting off to work every day, worried more about what I was going to finish with the day instead of what my neighbours would be up to. I established a problem with my knee. A semi-serious issue. It didn't stop me from doing most things, I could walk, run, and climb, however it did stop me from driving, and that in turn stopped me from working. I joined the ranks of the long-lasting ill, continued to receive my paycheque, and sat and took it easy. The first couple of weeks were fine I. managed to get all the little jobs that accumulate done. Then in the 3rd week, a despair began to sneak in. I had absolutely nothing to do, no place to go, and loads of time to eliminate. I began to get depressed.

We have a no cigarette smoking policy in our house, enforced on the bulk (me & my dad) by the minority (my mother). From here, you can see the entrance to our neighbour's house and the fronts of two houses across the street. I began to choose up on when the mums strolled their kids to school when they came back when they went out shopping, when they took the canine for a walk, and when they sat in the garden.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with most of individuals who stroll past your house. I started with a friendly hi and progressed to the point where I generally walk down to the garden gate and have a chat. Most people would disrupt me now, and state that the majority of ladies at home do what I do, talk and stop with the other women. I have 2 replies. One, I'm male, and 2, you don't understand the half of everything. I think it's time I provided you a total photo of our street and the people who live on it. It will come in useful later on. It's a really small street, 8 semi-detached homes and 1 separated (that's 5 buildings in all). Down the left side (as you stand at the top of the street) there is a uninhabited home, and then next to that is. Next up is Graham's home, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's home, she's a big Irish woman in her 60's. Last on this site is the removed home where Steve and Mandy live with their two teenage children.

On the right-hand side of the roadway, we start with Linda's home. She recently separated from her husband and is in the process of moving. She remains in her mid 30's and has 2 pre-teen daughters Emma and Becky. Next is our house. I haven't introduced myself yet, so now would be a great time. I'm John (28 ), and I cope with my mum Chrissie (45) and dad Bob (52 ). Next along are some newcomers. At this time in November, I didn't know their names, so-called them Dick and Helen to myself. Obviously, whenever I spoke to them, I utilized terms like a neighbour to bridge this gap in my knowledge. They were a couple, in their late 30's, early 40's, and they seemed to keep themselves to themselves. Last on the row was a chap who worked someplace in the City. I never ever spoke to him, although what I'm about to tell you, so this is the last time I discuss him.
