We have a no smoking cigarettes policy in our house, enforced on the bulk (me & my dad) by the minority (my mother). This implies that whenever we wish to smoke, we need to stand at the back entrance. From here, you can see the entryway to our neighbour's home and the fronts of two houses across the street. After cigarette smoking almost continuously when the anxiety set in, I began to notice the comings and goings of the people in the street. I started to pick up on when the mums strolled their kids to school when they came back when they headed out shopping, when they took the canine for a walk, and when they beinged in the garden. With nothing else to do, my mind filed away the regular times and I would find myself unconsciously having a cigarette when these ladies tackled their everyday routines.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with the majority of individuals who stroll past the house. I began with a friendly hey there and advanced to the point where I usually walk down to the garden gate and have a chat. Many people would interrupt me now, and say that most women in the house do what I do, stop and talk with the other women. I have 2 replies. It's a very small street, 8 semi-detached houses and 1 removed (that's 5 buildings in all). Next is Sheila's house, she's a big Irish woman in her 60's. Last on this website is the removed home where Steve and Mandy live with their two teenage sons.

On the right-hand side of the road, we start with Linda's home. She just recently separated from her partner and remains in the procedure of moving. She remains in her mid 30's and has two pre-teen daughters Emma and Becky. Next is our house. I haven't presented myself yet, so now would be a good time. I'm John (28 ), and I live with my mum Chrissie (45) and papa Bob (52 ). Next along are some newcomers. At this time in November, I didn't understand their names, so-called them Dick and Helen to myself. They were a couple, in their late 30's, early 40's, and they appeared to keep themselves to themselves. Last on the row was a chap who worked someplace in the City. I never spoke with him, despite the fact that what I'm about to tell you, so this is the last time I discuss him.
