We all accompany this, moving through the days, weeks, and years without providing it a doubt. Here's where I differ from the rest of you. Up till September, I had actually been just like you. I had absolutely nothing to do, no place to go, and loads of time to kill. I started to get depressed.

We have a no smoking policy in our house, implemented on the majority (me & my daddy) by the minority (my mother). From here, you can see the entrance to our neighbour's home and the fronts of 2 homes across the street. I started to pick up on when the mums strolled their kids to school when they came back when they went out shopping, when they took the pet dog for a walk, and when they sat in the garden.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with many of the people who stroll past the home. I started with a friendly hey there and progressed to the point where I normally walk down to the garden gate and have a chat. Many people would disrupt me now, and state that the majority of women at house do what I do, stop and talk with the other ladies. It's a really little street, 8 semi-detached houses and 1 detached (that's 5 buildings in all). Down the left side (as you stand at the top of the street) there is a uninhabited home, and after that next to that is. where Jody lives. She's a 70 odd-year-old widower, who is always first with any gossip. Next up is Graham's home, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's house, she's a big Irish female in her 60's. Then last on this site is the removed home where Steve and Mandy live with their 2 teenage boys. They are in their late 30's.

On the right-hand side of the roadway, we begin with Linda's home. Next is our house. Last on the row was a chap who worked someplace in the City.
