From here, you can see the entrance to our neighbour's home and the fronts of two houses across the street. After smoking cigarettes nearly continually when the depression embeded in, I started to discover the comings and goings of individuals in the street. I began to pick up on when the mums walked their kids to school when they returned when they went out shopping, when they took the pet dog for a walk, and when they sat in the garden. With absolutely nothing else to do, my mind filed away the routine times and I would discover myself subconsciously having a cigarette when these females tackled their daily routines.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with many of the people who stroll past the home. I started with a friendly hello and progressed to the point where I typically walk down to the garden gate and have a chat. A lot of people would disrupt me now, and say that most females at home do what I do, talk and stop with the other women. It's a extremely little street, 8 semi-detached homes and 1 separated (that's 5 structures in all). She's a 70 odd-year-old widower, who is constantly first with any gossip. Next up is Graham's home, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's home, she's a big Irish lady in her 60's. Last on this site is the detached home where Steve and Mandy live with their 2 teenage kids. They remain in their late 30's.
