We all support this, moving through the days, weeks, and years without providing it a doubt. Here's where I differ from the rest of you. Up till September, I had been just like you. Then in the 3rd week, a malaise started to sneak in. I had nothing to do, no place to go, and loads of time to eliminate. I began to get depressed.

We have a no cigarette smoking policy in our home, enforced on the majority (me & my daddy) by the minority (my mom). This suggests that whenever we want to smoke, we have to stand at the back door. From here, you can see the entrance to our neighbour's house and the fronts of two houses across the street. After smoking practically continually when the depression set in, I started to observe the comings and goings of individuals in the street. I began to detect when the mums strolled their kids to school when they came back when they went out shopping, when they took the pet for a walk, and when they beinged in the garden. With nothing else to do, my mind filed away the regular times and I would find myself subconsciously having a cigarette when these ladies tackled their daily routines.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with the majority of the people who stroll past your house. I began with a friendly hi and progressed to the point where I generally walk down to the garden gate and have a chat. Many people would interrupt me now, and say that a lot of women in your home do what I do, stop and talk with the other women. I have 2 replies. Next is Sheila's house, she's a huge Irish lady in her 60's. Last on this website is the detached house where Steve and Mandy live with their 2 teenage children.

On the right-hand side of the road, we begin with Linda's home. She recently separated from her spouse and remains in the procedure of moving. She remains in her mid 30's and has 2 pre-teen children Emma and Becky. Next is our house. I have not introduced myself yet, so now would be a great time. I'm John (28 ), and I deal with my mum Chrissie (45) and father Bob (52 ). Next along are some newcomers. At this time in November, I didn't understand their names, so-called them Dick and Helen to myself. Naturally, whenever I spoke to them, I utilized terms like a neighbour to bridge this space in my understanding. They were a couple, in their late 30's, early 40's, and they seemed to keep themselves to themselves. Last on the row was a chap who worked someplace in the City. I never talked to him, although what I'm about to inform you, so this is the last time I discuss him.
