This indicates that whenever we want to smoke, we have to stand at the back entrance. From here, you can see the entrance to our neighbour's home and the fronts of 2 houses across the street. After smoking cigarettes practically continuously when the depression set in, I began to notice the comings and goings of the people in the street. I began to detect when the mums strolled their kids to school when they returned when they went out shopping, when they took the pet for a walk, and when they beinged in the garden. With absolutely nothing else to do, my mind filed away the regular times and I would discover myself subconsciously having a cigarette when these women tackled their everyday routines.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with many of the people who walk past the house. I started with a friendly hi and advanced to the point where I normally walk down to the garden gate and have a chat. A lot of people would disrupt me now, and say that many women at house do what I do, talk and stop with the other ladies. It's a very small street, 8 semi-detached homes and 1 separated (that's 5 structures in all). Down the left side (as you stand at the top of the street) there is a vacant home, and then next to that is. Next up is Graham's house, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's home, she's a big Irish woman in her 60's. Last on this website is the removed home where Steve and Mandy live with their two teenage sons.

On the right-hand side of the roadway, we start with Linda's house. Next is our home. Last on the row was a bloke who worked someplace in the City.
