After smoking almost constantly when the depression embeded in, I began to notice the comings and goings of individuals in the street. I started to pick up on when the mums strolled their kids to school when they came back when they went out shopping, when they took the pet dog for a walk, and when they beinged in the garden. With nothing else to do, my mind filed away the routine times and I would discover myself subconsciously having a cigarette when these women went about their daily regimens.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with the majority of the people who stroll past your house. I began with a friendly hello and progressed to the point where I usually walk down to the garden gate and have a chat.
