We all go along with this, moving through the days, weeks, and years without giving it a 2nd thought. With absolutely nothing else to do, my mind filed away the routine times and I would find myself unconsciously having a cigarette when these ladies set about their daily routines.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with most of the individuals who stroll past the house. I began with a friendly hey there and advanced to the point where I normally stroll down to the garden gate and have a chat. Many people would interrupt me now, and say that many women at house do what I do, stop and talk with the other females. It's a very little street, 8 semi-detached homes and 1 separated (that's 5 structures in all). Down the left side (as you stand at the top of the street) there is a uninhabited home, and then next to that is. where Jody lives. She's a 70 odd-year-old widower, who is always first with any gossip. Next up is Graham's home, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's house, she's a huge Irish female in her 60's. Last on this website is the separated house where Steve and Mandy live with their two teenage kids. They remain in their late 30's.

On the right-hand side of the roadway, we start with Linda's home. Next is our house. Last on the row was a bloke who worked someplace in the City.
