I started to pick up on when the mums walked their kids to school when they came back when they went out shopping, when they took the pet for a walk, and when they sat in the garden.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with the majority of the people who stroll past the house. I started with a friendly hey there and progressed to the point where I generally stroll down to the garden gate and have a chat.
