We all go along with this, moving through the days, weeks, and years without giving it a second idea. With nothing else to do, my mind filed away the regular times and I would find myself unconsciously having a cigarette when these women went about their day-to-day regimens.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with most of the people who stroll past the home. I began with a friendly hi and progressed to the point where I generally stroll down to the garden gate and have a chat. Many people would interrupt me now, and say that many ladies at home do what I do, stop and talk with the other ladies. It's a very little street, 8 semi-detached homes and 1 separated (that's 5 structures in all). Down the left side (as you stand at the top of the street) there is a vacant home, and then beside that is. where Jody lives. She's a 70 odd-year-old widower, who is always first with any gossip. Next up is Graham's home, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's house, she's a big Irish female in her 60's. Then last on this site is the separated home where Steve and Mandy cope with their 2 teenage kids. They remain in their late 30's.

On the right-hand side of the roadway, we start with Linda's house. She recently separated from her husband and remains in the process of moving. She is in her mid 30's and has two pre-teen children Emma and Becky. Next is our home. I haven't presented myself yet, so now would be a good time. I'm John (28 ), and I cope with my mum Chrissie (45) and father Bob (52 ). Next along are some newbies.
