We all go along with this, moving through the days, weeks, and years without offering it a 2nd thought. I began to pick up on when the mums walked their kids to school when they came back when they headed out shopping, when they took the dog for a walk, and when they beinged in the garden. With nothing else to do, my mind filed away the regular times and I would discover myself subconsciously having a cigarette when these ladies went about their everyday routines.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with most of the people who stroll past the home. I started with a friendly hello and advanced to the point where I usually stroll down to the garden gate and have a chat. The majority of individuals would disrupt me now, and say that a lot of ladies at home do what I do, chat and stop with the other women. It's a very small street, 8 semi-detached homes and 1 detached (that's 5 buildings in all). Down the left side (as you stand at the top of the street) there is a vacant house, and then next to that is. where Jody lives. She's a 70 odd-year-old widower, who is constantly very first with any chatter. Next up is Graham's home, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's home, she's a big Irish female in her 60's. Last on this site is the detached house where Steve and Mandy live with their two teenage kids. They are in their late 30's.

On the right-hand side of the road, we start with Linda's home. She recently separated from her husband and remains in the process of moving. She remains in her mid 30's and has 2 pre-teen children Emma and Becky. Next is our house. I haven't introduced myself yet, so now would be a good time. I'm John (28 ), and I live with my mum Chrissie (45) and father Bob (52 ). Next along are some newbies. At this time in November, I didn't know their names, so-called them Dick and Helen to myself. Obviously, whenever I spoke to them, I utilized terms like a neighbour to bridge this gap in my knowledge. They were a couple, in their late 30's, early 40's, and they appeared to keep themselves to themselves. Last on the row was a bloke who worked somewhere in the City. I never spoke with him, although what I'm about to inform you, so this is the last time I discuss him.
