We have a no smoking policy in our house, imposed on the majority (me & my daddy) by the minority (my mom). This means that whenever we want to smoke, we have to stand at the back entrance. From here, you can see the entrance to our neighbour's house and the fronts of two homes across the street. After smoking nearly continuously when the anxiety embeded in, I started to discover the comings and goings of individuals in the street. I started to detect when the mums walked their kids to school when they returned when they headed out shopping, when they took the pet for a walk, and when they beinged in the garden. With absolutely nothing else to do, my mind filed away the routine times and I would find myself unconsciously having a cigarette when these females went about their everyday regimens.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with most of the people who walk past the home. I began with a friendly hello and progressed to the point where I typically stroll down to the garden gate and have a chat. A lot of people would interrupt me now, and state that a lot of ladies at home do what I do, talk and stop with the other females. It's a very little street, 8 semi-detached houses and 1 detached (that's 5 structures in all). Down the left side (as you stand at the top of the street) there is a vacant home, and after that next to that is. where Jody lives. She's a 70 odd-year-old widower, who is constantly very first with any chatter. Next up is Graham's home, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's home, she's a huge Irish woman in her 60's. Last on this website is the removed house where Steve and Mandy live with their 2 teenage children. They remain in their late 30's.

On the right-hand side of the road, we start with Linda's home. Next is our house. Last on the row was a bloke who worked someplace in the City.
