We all support this, moving through the days, weeks, and years without offering it a doubt. Here's where I vary from the rest of you. Up till September, I had actually been similar to you. The first few weeks were great I. managed to get all the little jobs that accumulate done. Then in the third week, a malaise began to creep in. I had absolutely nothing to do, no place to go, and loads of time to kill. I started to get depressed.

We have a no cigarette smoking policy in our house, implemented on the majority (me & my daddy) by the minority (my mother). This indicates that whenever we wish to smoke, we need to stand at the back entrance. From here, you can see the entryway to our neighbour's home and the fronts of two homes across the street. After smoking nearly continually when the depression set in, I began to observe the comings and goings of the people in the street. I began to detect when the mums strolled their kids to school when they returned when they went out shopping, when they took the pet dog for a walk, and when they sat in the garden. With nothing else to do, my mind filed away the routine times and I would find myself subconsciously having a cigarette when these women went about their day-to-day routines.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with the majority of individuals who stroll past your house. I began with a friendly hello and advanced to the point where I usually stroll down to the garden gate and have a chat. Many people would interrupt me now, and state that a lot of women in your home do what I do, stop and chat with the other women. I have 2 replies. One, I'm male, and 2, you don't understand the half of everything. I believe it's time I provided you a total image of our street and individuals who survive on it. It will come in helpful in the future. It's a really small street, 8 semi-detached houses and 1 removed (that's 5 structures in all). Down the left side (as you stand at the top of the street) there is a vacant house, and then beside that is. Next up is Graham's house, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's home, she's a big Irish lady in her 60's. Last on this site is the detached house where Steve and Mandy live with their two teenage boys.

On the right-hand side of the roadway, we begin with Linda's home. She just recently separated from her hubby and is in the procedure of moving. She is in her mid 30's and has two pre-teen daughters Emma and Becky. Next is our house. I have not introduced myself yet, so now would be a good time. I'm John (28 ), and I cope with my mum Chrissie (45) and daddy Bob (52 ). Next along are some newbies. At this time in November, I didn't understand their names, so-called them Dick and Helen to myself. Obviously, whenever I spoke with them, I used terms like a neighbour to bridge this space in my knowledge. They were a couple, in their late 30's, early 40's, and they seemed to keep themselves to themselves. Last on the row was a bloke who worked someplace in the City. I never spoke with him, despite the fact that what I'm about to inform you, so this is the last time I mention him.
