We all support this, moving through the days, weeks, and years without providing it a reservation. Here's where I differ from the rest of you. Up till September, I had been much like you. Setting off to work every day, concerned more about what I was going to finish with the day rather than what my neighbours would be up to. I established a problem with my knee. A semi-serious issue. The first couple of weeks were great I. managed to get all the little tasks that accumulate done. Then in the 3rd week, a malaise started to creep in. I had absolutely nothing to do, nowhere to go, and loads of time to kill. I began to get depressed.

We have a no cigarette smoking policy in our house, enforced on the majority (me & my dad) by the minority (my mom). This indicates that whenever we wish to smoke, we have to stand at the back door. From here, you can see the entryway to our neighbour's home and the fronts of two houses across the street. After smoking cigarettes nearly continually when the depression embeded in, I started to observe the comings and goings of the people in the street. I started to detect when the mums strolled their kids to school when they came back when they headed out shopping, when they took the canine for a walk, and when they sat in the garden. With nothing else to do, my mind filed away the regular times and I would discover myself unconsciously having a cigarette when these ladies set about their daily routines.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with many of the people who walk past the home. I started with a friendly hello and progressed to the point where I typically walk down to the garden gate and have a chat. Many individuals would interrupt me now, and say that the majority of ladies at home do what I do, chat and stop with the other women. It's a very little street, 8 semi-detached houses and 1 removed (that's 5 buildings in all). Down the left side (as you stand at the top of the street) there is a vacant home, and after that next to that is. Next up is Graham's home, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's home, she's a huge Irish lady in her 60's. Last on this website is the detached home where Steve and Mandy live with their two teenage boys.

On the right-hand side of the road, we begin with Linda's house. She recently separated from her husband and is in the procedure of moving. She remains in her mid 30's and has 2 pre-teen children Emma and Becky. Next is our house. I have not introduced myself yet, so now would be a good time. I'm John (28 ), and I cope with my mum Chrissie (45) and father Bob (52 ). Next along are some newcomers. At this time in November, I didn't know their names, so-called them Dick and Helen to myself. Naturally, whenever I spoke to them, I used terms like a neighbour to bridge this space in my understanding. They were a couple, in their late 30's, early 40's, and they seemed to keep themselves to themselves. Last on the row was a bloke who worked somewhere in the City. I never talked to him, although what I'm about to tell you, so this is the last time I mention him.
