We all accompany this, moving through the days, weeks, and years without giving it a second thought. Here's where I vary from the rest of you. Up until September, I had actually been just like you. We have a no smoking policy in our home, imposed on the majority (me & my dad) by the minority (my mom). This implies that whenever we want to smoke, we need to stand at the back entrance. From here, you can see the entryway to our neighbour's house and the fronts of 2 homes across the street. After cigarette smoking nearly continuously when the depression set in, I started to observe the comings and goings of individuals in the street. I began to detect when the mums strolled their kids to school when they came back when they headed out shopping, when they took the canine for a walk, and when they sat in the garden. With nothing else to do, my mind filed away the routine times and I would find myself subconsciously having a cigarette when these females tackled their daily routines.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with many of the individuals who walk past the house. I began with a friendly hi and progressed to the point where I normally stroll down to the garden gate and have a chat. Many people would disrupt me now, and say that many ladies at home do what I do, talk and stop with the other ladies. It's a really small street, 8 semi-detached houses and 1 detached (that's 5 structures in all). Down the left side (as you stand at the top of the street) there is a uninhabited home, and then beside that is. Next up is Graham's home, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's home, she's a huge Irish lady in her 60's. Last on this website is the removed home where Steve and Mandy live with their 2 teenage kids.

On the right-hand side of the road, we start with Linda's home. She recently separated from her other half and is in the process of moving. She remains in her mid 30's and has 2 pre-teen daughters Emma and Becky. Next is our home. I have not presented myself yet, so now would be a good time. I'm John (28 ), and I cope with my mum Chrissie (45) and dad Bob (52 ). Next along are some beginners. At this time in November, I didn't understand their names, so-called them Dick and Helen to myself. Obviously, whenever I spoke with them, I utilized terms like a neighbour to bridge this gap in my knowledge. They were a couple, in their late 30's, early 40's, and they seemed to keep themselves to themselves. Last on the row was a chap who worked somewhere in the City. I never ever spoke to him, although what I'm about to tell you, so this is the last time I discuss him.
