All of us go along with this, moving through the days, weeks, and years without giving it a doubt. Here's where I differ from the rest of you. Up until September, I had been similar to you. Then in the third week, a malaise began to creep in. I had nothing to do, no place to go, and loads of time to kill. I began to get depressed.

We have a no smoking cigarettes policy in our house, enforced on the bulk (me & my daddy) by the minority (my mom). From here, you can see the entryway to our neighbour's home and the fronts of two homes throughout the street. I started to pick up on when the mums walked their kids to school when they came back when they went out shopping, when they took the canine for a walk, and when they sat in the garden.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with the majority of the people who walk past your home. I began with a friendly hey there and progressed to the point where I generally walk down to the garden gate and have a chat. The majority of people would interrupt me now, and say that a lot of women at home do what I do, talk and stop with the other women. I have two replies. It's a really small street, 8 semi-detached houses and 1 detached (that's 5 buildings in all). Down the left side (as you stand at the top of the street) there is a vacant house, and then next to that is. where Jody lives. She's a 70 odd-year-old widower, who is constantly first with any gossip. Next up is Graham's house, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's home, she's a big Irish woman in her 60's. Last on this site is the detached home where Steve and Mandy live with their 2 teenage boys. They are in their late 30's.

On the right-hand side of the roadway, we start with Linda's house. She recently separated from her husband and remains in the procedure of moving. She remains in her mid 30's and has 2 pre-teen daughters Emma and Becky. Next is our house. I have not introduced myself yet, so now would be a great time. I'm John (28 ), and I deal with my mum Chrissie (45) and dad Bob (52 ). Next along are some newbies. I never ever spoke with him, even though what I'm about to tell you, so this is the last time I discuss him.
