We have a no smoking policy in our house, imposed on the bulk (me & my daddy) by the minority (my mom). This means that whenever we want to smoke, we need to stand at the back door. From here, you can see the entrance to our neighbour's home and the fronts of two homes across the street. After cigarette smoking nearly continuously when the depression set in, I began to notice the comings and goings of individuals in the street. I began to pick up on when the mums strolled their kids to school when they came back when they went out shopping, when they took the canine for a walk, and when they sat in the garden. With absolutely nothing else to do, my mind filed away the regular times and I would discover myself unconsciously having a cigarette when these females went about their daily regimens.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with many of the people who stroll past the home. I started with a friendly hey there and progressed to the point where I typically stroll down to the garden gate and have a chat. Many people would disrupt me now, and state that the majority of ladies at home do what I do, stop and talk with the other ladies. It's a very small street, 8 semi-detached houses and 1 removed (that's 5 structures in all). Down the left side (as you stand at the top of the street) there is a vacant home, and after that beside that is. Next up is Graham's home, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's home, she's a huge Irish woman in her 60's. Last on this website is the detached house where Steve and Mandy live with their 2 teenage sons.

On the right-hand side of the roadway, we start with Linda's home. Next is our home. Last on the row was a chap who worked someplace in the City.
