We have a no smoking cigarettes policy in our house, enforced on the bulk (me & my dad) by the minority (my mother). This implies that whenever we wish to smoke, we need to stand at the back door. From here, you can see the entryway to our neighbour's house and the fronts of two homes across the street. After smoking cigarettes practically constantly when the anxiety embeded in, I started to notice the comings and goings of individuals in the street. I started to detect when the mums strolled their kids to school when they returned when they headed out shopping, when they took the pet for a walk, and when they sat in the garden. With nothing else to do, my mind filed away the regular times and I would find myself subconsciously having a cigarette when these ladies went about their daily regimens.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with the majority of the people who walk past the house. I started with a friendly hi and progressed to the point where I normally stroll down to the garden gate and have a chat. The majority of people would interrupt me now, and say that the majority of women at home do what I do, talk and stop with the other women. I have two replies. Next is Sheila's home, she's a big Irish lady in her 60's. Last on this site is the removed home where Steve and Mandy live with their two teenage sons.

On the right-hand side of the road, we start with Linda's home. Next is our home. Last on the row was a chap who worked somewhere in the City.
