We all go along with this, moving through the days, weeks, and years without offering it a 2nd thought. Setting off to work every day, concerned more about what I was going to do with the day rather than what my neighbours would be up to. With nothing else to do, my mind filed away the regular times and I would find myself unconsciously having a cigarette when these women set about their everyday routines.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with many of the people who stroll past the home. I began with a friendly hello and advanced to the point where I typically walk down to the garden gate and have a chat. Many individuals would interrupt me now, and state that a lot of ladies at home do what I do, chat and stop with the other women. It's a extremely small street, 8 semi-detached houses and 1 separated (that's 5 structures in all). On the right-hand side of the road, we start with Linda's home. She recently separated from her husband and remains in the process of moving. I never spoke with him, although what I'm about to tell you, so this is the last time I mention him.
