We have a no cigarette smoking policy in our house, imposed on the majority (me & my daddy) by the minority (my mom). This means that whenever we wish to smoke, we have to stand at the back entrance. From here, you can see the entrance to our neighbour's house and the fronts of two houses across the street. After cigarette smoking practically constantly when the depression embeded in, I began to observe the comings and goings of the people in the street. I started to detect when the mums strolled their kids to school when they returned when they went out shopping, when they took the pet for a walk, and when they sat in the garden. With absolutely nothing else to do, my mind filed away the regular times and I would discover myself subconsciously having a cigarette when these females set about their day-to-day routines.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with many of the individuals who stroll past the home. I began with a friendly hi and progressed to the point where I normally stroll down to the garden gate and have a chat. The majority of individuals would interrupt me now, and say that a lot of ladies at house do what I do, stop and chat with the other females. It's a really little street, 8 semi-detached homes and 1 separated (that's 5 structures in all). Down the left side (as you stand at the top of the street) there is a vacant home, and then beside that is. where Jody lives. She's a 70 odd-year-old widower, who is always first with any chatter. Next up is Graham's house, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's home, she's a big Irish lady in her 60's. Last on this website is the removed house where Steve and Mandy live with their two teenage boys. They remain in their late 30's.

On the right-hand side of the road, we start with Linda's home. She just recently separated from her partner and is in the procedure of moving. She is in her mid 30's and has two pre-teen children Emma and Becky. Next is our home. I have not presented myself yet, so now would be a good time. I'm John (28 ), and I cope with my mum Chrissie (45) and father Bob (52 ). Next along are some beginners. I never talked to him, despite the fact that what I'm about to tell you, so this is the last time I mention him.
