We all go along with this, moving through the days, weeks, and years without providing it a second thought. I began to detect when the mums strolled their kids to school when they came back when they went out shopping, when they took the pet dog for a walk, and when they sat in the garden. With absolutely nothing else to do, my mind filed away the routine times and I would find myself subconsciously having a cigarette when these women set about their day-to-day routines.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with most of the people who walk past the house. I began with a friendly hi and advanced to the point where I usually walk down to the garden gate and have a chat. Many people would disrupt me now, and state that most females in the house do what I do, stop and talk with the other women. I have two replies. One, I'm male, and two, you don't know the half of everything. I believe it's time I gave you a total photo of our street and individuals who reside on it. It will can be found in useful later. It's a really small street, 8 semi-detached houses and 1 detached (that's 5 structures in all). Down the left side (as you stand at the top of the street) there is a uninhabited home, and then beside that is. where Jody lives. She's a 70 odd-year-old widower, who is always very first with any chatter. Next up is Graham's home, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's home, she's a huge Irish lady in her 60's. Then last on this site is the detached home where Steve and Mandy cope with their 2 teenage sons. They are in their late 30's.

On the right-hand side of the roadway, we begin with Linda's home. Next is our home. Last on the row was a chap who worked somewhere in the City.
