After cigarette smoking almost continually when the depression set in, I began to see the comings and goings of the people in the street. I began to pick up on when the mums walked their kids to school when they came back when they went out shopping, when they took the pet dog for a walk, and when they beinged in the garden. With nothing else to do, my mind filed away the routine times and I would discover myself subconsciously having a cigarette when these women went about their daily regimens.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with the majority of the people who walk past your home. I began with a friendly hello and progressed to the point where I typically stroll down to the garden gate and have a chat.
