With nothing else to do, my mind filed away the regular times and I would discover myself subconsciously having a cigarette when these women tackled their everyday regimens.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with many of the people who stroll past the house. I began with a friendly hello and progressed to the point where I normally stroll down to the garden gate and have a chat. The majority of people would interrupt me now, and state that most women at house do what I do, stop and chat with the other women. It's a very small street, 8 semi-detached homes and 1 detached (that's 5 structures in all). Next is Sheila's home, she's a big Irish lady in her 60's. Last on this website is the removed home where Steve and Mandy live with their 2 teenage sons.

On the right-hand side of the roadway, we begin with Linda's home. Next is our home. Last on the row was a bloke who worked someplace in the City.
