With absolutely nothing else to do, my mind filed away the routine times and I would find myself unconsciously having a cigarette when these ladies went about their day-to-day regimens.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with most of the people who walk past the home. I started with a friendly hey there and progressed to the point where I typically walk down to the garden gate and have a chat.
