All of us accompany this, moving through the days, weeks, and years without giving it a second thought. Here's where I vary from the rest of you. It didn't stop me from doing most things, I might stroll, run, and climb, however it did stop me from driving, which in turn stopped me from working. I joined the ranks of the long-lasting ill, continued to get my paycheque, and sat and took it easy. The very first few weeks were great I. managed to get all the little jobs that accumulate done. In the 3rd week, a malaise began to creep in. I had absolutely nothing to do, no place to go, and loads of time to kill. I started to get depressed.

We have a no cigarette smoking policy in our house, imposed on the bulk (me & my father) by the minority (my mother). From here, you can see the entrance to our neighbour's house and the fronts of 2 homes throughout the street. I began to choose up on when the mums walked their kids to school when they came back when they went out shopping, when they took the pet for a walk, and when they sat in the garden.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with the majority of individuals who walk past your house. I started with a friendly hi and progressed to the point where I usually stroll down to the garden gate and have a chat. Many people would disrupt me now, and state that most ladies in your home do what I do, talk and stop with the other women. I have 2 replies. One, I'm male, and two, you do not understand the half of all of it. I think it's time I gave you a total picture of our street and the people who survive on it. It will come in helpful in the future. It's a very small street, 8 semi-detached homes and 1 separated (that's 5 structures in all). Down the left side (as you stand at the top of the street) there is a vacant home, and then next to that is. where Jody lives. She's a 70 odd-year-old widower, who is constantly very first with any chatter. Next up is Graham's home, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's house, she's a big Irish female in her 60's. Last on this site is the separated house where Steve and Mandy live with their two teenage kids. They are in their late 30's.

On the right-hand side of the roadway, we begin with Linda's home. She recently separated from her hubby and is in the process of moving. She is in her mid 30's and has two pre-teen daughters Emma and Becky. Next is our home. I haven't presented myself yet, so now would be a good time. I'm John (28 ), and I deal with my mum Chrissie (45) and father Bob (52 ). Next along are some newcomers. At this time in November, I didn't know their names, so-called them Dick and Helen to myself. Of course, whenever I spoke to them, I utilized terms like a neighbour to bridge this space in my understanding. They were a couple, in their late 30's, early 40's, and they appeared to keep themselves to themselves. Last on the row was a chap who worked somewhere in the City. I never ever spoke to him, even though what I'm about to tell you, so this is the last time I mention him.
