We all accompany this, moving through the days, weeks, and years without giving it a doubt. Here's where I vary from the rest of you. Up until September, I had actually been just like you. We have a no smoking policy in our home, imposed on the majority (me & my dad) by the minority (my mom). This suggests that whenever we want to smoke, we have to stand at the back door. From here, you can see the entryway to our neighbour's house and the fronts of two houses across the street. After smoking cigarettes almost continually when the anxiety embeded in, I started to observe the comings and goings of individuals in the street. I began to detect when the mums strolled their kids to school when they came back when they headed out shopping, when they took the canine for a walk, and when they sat in the garden. With absolutely nothing else to do, my mind filed away the regular times and I would find myself unconsciously having a cigarette when these females set about their day-to-day routines.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with most of the individuals who stroll past the home. I started with a friendly hi and advanced to the point where I typically stroll down to the garden gate and have a chat. Many people would disrupt me now, and say that many women at house do what I do, stop and chat with the other females. It's a very small street, 8 semi-detached homes and 1 separated (that's 5 buildings in all). Down the left side (as you stand at the top of the street) there is a uninhabited home, and then beside that is. Next up is Graham's house, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's home, she's a huge Irish woman in her 60's. Last on this site is the separated home where Steve and Mandy live with their two teenage boys.

On the right-hand side of the roadway, we begin with Linda's house. Next is our house. Last on the row was a bloke who worked someplace in the City.
