We all go along with this, moving through the days, weeks, and years without giving it a second thought. Here's where I differ from the rest of you. I had nothing to do, no place to go, and loads of time to kill. I started to get depressed.

We have a no cigarette smoking policy in our house, implemented on the majority (me & my father) by the minority (my mom). From here, you can see the entrance to our neighbour's house and the fronts of 2 houses throughout the street. I began to choose up on when the mums strolled their kids to school when they came back when they went out shopping, when they took the dog for a walk, and when they sat in the garden.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with most of the people who stroll past your home. I started with a friendly hello and progressed to the point where I usually stroll down to the garden gate and have a chat. Many people would interrupt me now, and state that most ladies at home do what I do, chat and stop with the other women. I have 2 replies. She's a 70 odd-year-old widower, who is constantly very first with any gossip. Next up is Graham's house, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's house, she's a huge Irish lady in her 60's. Then last on this website is the separated home where Steve and Mandy live with their 2 teenage sons. They remain in their late 30's.

On the right-hand side of the road, we start with Linda's house. Next is our home. Last on the row was a chap who worked someplace in the City.
