All of us accompany this, moving through the days, weeks, and years without offering it a second thought. Here's where I vary from the rest of you. Up until September, I had been much like you. I signed up with the ranks of the long-term ill, continued to receive my paycheque, and sat and took it simple. The first few weeks were great I. managed to get all the little tasks that accumulate done. In the 3rd week, a malaise began to sneak in. I had absolutely nothing to do, no place to go, and loads of time to eliminate. I started to get depressed.

We have a no cigarette smoking policy in our home, implemented on the majority (me & my dad) by the minority (my mother). This means that whenever we wish to smoke, we need to stand at the back entrance. From here, you can see the entryway to our neighbour's home and the fronts of 2 homes across the street. After smoking cigarettes nearly constantly when the anxiety set in, I began to observe the comings and goings of the people in the street. I started to detect when the mums strolled their kids to school when they returned when they headed out shopping, when they took the canine for a walk, and when they sat in the garden. With absolutely nothing else to do, my mind filed away the regular times and I would find myself subconsciously having a cigarette when these ladies tackled their everyday regimens.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with many of the people who walk past the home. I began with a friendly hello and advanced to the point where I usually walk down to the garden gate and have a chat. Many people would disrupt me now, and say that most females at house do what I do, talk and stop with the other females. It's a very little street, 8 semi-detached homes and 1 detached (that's 5 buildings in all). Down the left side (as you stand at the top of the street) there is a vacant home, and then next to that is. where Jody lives. She's a 70 odd-year-old widower, who is constantly very first with any chatter. Next up is Graham's home, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's house, she's a huge Irish female in her 60's. Then last on this website is the separated house where Steve and Mandy cope with their 2 teenage sons. They are in their late 30's.

On the right-hand side of the road, we begin with Linda's house. She just recently separated from her hubby and is in the process of moving. She remains in her mid 30's and has two pre-teen children Emma and Becky. Next is our home. I haven't presented myself yet, so now would be a good time. I'm John (28 ), and I deal with my mum Chrissie (45) and father Bob (52 ). Next along are some newbies. At this time in November, I didn't know their names, so-called them Dick and Helen to myself. Obviously, whenever I talked to them, I used terms like a neighbour to bridge this space in my knowledge. They were a couple, in their late 30's, early 40's, and they appeared to keep themselves to themselves. Last on the row was a chap who worked somewhere in the City. I never spoke to him, even though what I'm about to inform you, so this is the last time I mention him.
