From here, you can see the entryway to our neighbour's home and the fronts of 2 houses across the street. After smoking cigarettes nearly continuously when the anxiety set in, I began to observe the comings and goings of the people in the street. I began to pick up on when the mums walked their kids to school when they came back when they headed out shopping, when they took the canine for a walk, and when they sat in the garden. With absolutely nothing else to do, my mind filed away the regular times and I would discover myself subconsciously having a cigarette when these women went about their daily regimens.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with most of the people who stroll past the home. I started with a friendly hello and progressed to the point where I generally stroll down to the garden gate and have a chat.
