We all go along with this, moving through the days, weeks, and years without giving it a second idea. Setting off to work every day, worried more about what I was going to do with the day rather than what my neighbours would be up to. After smoking cigarettes nearly constantly when the depression set in, I started to observe the comings and goings of individuals in the street. I began to pick up on when the mums walked their kids to school when they came back when they headed out shopping, when they took the pet dog for a walk, and when they sat in the garden. With nothing else to do, my mind filed away the regular times and I would find myself unconsciously having a cigarette when these women tackled their daily routines.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with the majority of individuals who walk past the house. I began with a friendly hey there and advanced to the point where I normally walk down to the garden gate and have a chat. The majority of people would interrupt me now, and say that the majority of women in the house do what I do, stop and talk with the other women. I have 2 replies. One, I'm male, and two, you don't know the half of all of it. I think it's time I gave you a total picture of our street and individuals who live on it. It will be available in helpful later. It's a really small street, 8 semi-detached houses and 1 removed (that's 5 structures in all). Down the left side (as you stand at the top of the street) there is a uninhabited house, and after that next to that is. where Jody lives. She's a 70 odd-year-old widower, who is constantly very first with any chatter. Next up is Graham's house, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's house, she's a huge Irish lady in her 60's. Last on this site is the separated home where Steve and Mandy live with their 2 teenage kids. They remain in their late 30's.

On the right-hand side of the road, we start with Linda's home. She just recently separated from her partner and remains in the procedure of moving. She remains in her mid 30's and has 2 pre-teen daughters Emma and Becky. Next is our home. I haven't presented myself yet, so now would be a great time. I'm John (28 ), and I cope with my mum Chrissie (45) and daddy Bob (52 ). Next along are some newbies. At this time in November, I didn't understand their names, so-called them Dick and Helen to myself. Obviously, whenever I spoke to them, I utilized terms like a neighbour to bridge this space in my understanding. They were a couple, in their late 30's, early 40's, and they seemed to keep themselves to themselves. Last on the row was a chap who worked somewhere in the City. I never ever spoke to him, despite the fact that what I'm about to tell you, so this is the last time I discuss him.
