We all go along with this, moving through the days, weeks, and years without giving it a 2nd thought. With absolutely nothing else to do, my mind filed away the routine times and I would discover myself unconsciously having a cigarette when these women went about their daily routines.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with the majority of the people who stroll past the house. I started with a friendly hello and advanced to the point where I generally stroll down to the garden gate and have a chat. She's a 70 odd-year-old widower, who is always first with any gossip. Next up is Graham's home, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's house, she's a big Irish woman in her 60's. Then last on this site is the detached house where Steve and Mandy cope with their 2 teenage children. They remain in their late 30's.

On the right-hand side of the roadway, we start with Linda's house. She just recently separated from her husband and is in the procedure of moving. She is in her mid 30's and has two pre-teen daughters Emma and Becky. Next is our house. I haven't introduced myself yet, so now would be a great time.
