We all support this, moving through the days, weeks, and years without giving it a doubt. Here's where I vary from the rest of you. Up until September, I had been much like you. Then in the third week, a despair started to sneak in. I had nothing to do, nowhere to go, and loads of time to kill. I started to get depressed.

We have a no smoking cigarettes policy in our house, enforced on the majority (me & my dad) by the minority (my mother). From here, you can see the entryway to our neighbour's house and the fronts of 2 homes across the street. I started to choose up on when the mums strolled their kids to school when they came back when they went out shopping, when they took the dog for a walk, and when they sat in the garden.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with the majority of the people who stroll past your house. I began with a friendly hi and advanced to the point where I generally walk down to the garden gate and have a chat. Many people would disrupt me now, and state that most ladies in the house do what I do, stop and chat with the other women. I have 2 replies. It's a very little street, 8 semi-detached houses and 1 removed (that's 5 structures in all). Down the left side (as you stand at the top of the street) there is a uninhabited house, and then beside that is. where Jody lives. She's a 70 odd-year-old widower, who is always first with any chatter. Next up is Graham's house, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's home, she's a big Irish woman in her 60's. Then last on this website is the separated house where Steve and Mandy deal with their 2 teenage boys. They remain in their late 30's.

On the right-hand side of the road, we begin with Linda's house. She just recently separated from her husband and is in the procedure of moving. She remains in her mid 30's and has 2 pre-teen children Emma and Becky. Next is our house. I have not presented myself yet, so now would be a great time. I'm John (28 ), and I deal with my mum Chrissie (45) and daddy Bob (52 ). Next along are some newbies. At this time in November, I didn't know their names, so-called them Dick and Helen to myself. Obviously, whenever I spoke with them, I utilized terms like a neighbour to bridge this gap in my knowledge. They were a couple, in their late 30's, early 40's, and they seemed to keep themselves to themselves. Last on the row was a chap who worked someplace in the City. I never ever spoke with him, even though what I'm about to tell you, so this is the last time I discuss him.
