November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with many of the people who stroll past the house. I began with a friendly hello and advanced to the point where I usually walk down to the garden gate and have a chat. Many people would interrupt me now, and state that the majority of women at house do what I do, chat and stop with the other women. It's a really little street, 8 semi-detached houses and 1 detached (that's 5 buildings in all). She's a 70 odd-year-old widower, who is constantly very first with any gossip. Next up is Graham's house, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's home, she's a big Irish woman in her 60's. Then last on this site is the detached home where Steve and Mandy cope with their 2 teenage sons. They remain in their late 30's.

On the right-hand side of the roadway, we start with Linda's home. Next is our home. Last on the row was a chap who worked someplace in the City.
