We all go along with this, moving through the days, weeks, and years without giving it a 2nd thought. With nothing else to do, my mind filed away the regular times and I would find myself subconsciously having a cigarette when these women set about their everyday routines.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with the majority of the people who stroll past your home. I began with a friendly hello and progressed to the point where I generally stroll down to the garden gate and have a chat. Many people would interrupt me now, and say that a lot of women in the house do what I do, talk and stop with the other women. I have two replies. It's a really little street, 8 semi-detached houses and 1 removed (that's 5 buildings in all). Down the left side (as you stand at the top of the street) there is a vacant house, and after that next to that is. where Jody lives. She's a 70 odd-year-old widower, who is constantly very first with any gossip. Next up is Graham's home, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's home, she's a big Irish woman in her 60's. Then last on this website is the detached home where Steve and Mandy cope with their two teenage sons. They are in their late 30's.

On the right-hand side of the roadway, we start with Linda's home. Next is our house. Last on the row was a chap who worked someplace in the City.
