We all go along with this, moving through the days, weeks, and years without giving it a second idea. Setting off to work every day, worried more about what I was going to do with the day rather than what my neighbours would be up to. It didn't stop me from doing most things, I might stroll, run, and climb, however it did stop me from driving, and that in turn stopped me from working.

We have a no cigarette smoking policy in our home, implemented on the majority (me & my daddy) by the minority (my mother). I started to pick up on when the mums strolled their kids to school when they came back when they went out shopping, when they took the pet dog for a walk, and when they sat in the garden.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with most of the people who stroll past the home. I started with a friendly hey there and progressed to the point where I normally stroll down to the garden gate and have a chat. Many people would interrupt me now, and state that many ladies at house do what I do, talk and stop with the other ladies. It's a really small street, 8 semi-detached homes and 1 removed (that's 5 buildings in all). Down the left side (as you stand at the top of the street) there is a uninhabited home, and after that beside that is. where Jody lives. She's a 70 odd-year-old widower, who is always first with any chatter. Next up is Graham's home, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's home, she's a huge Irish female in her 60's. Then last on this site is the removed house where Steve and Mandy live with their 2 teenage sons. They are in their late 30's.

On the right-hand side of the road, we start with Linda's home. She recently separated from her other half and remains in the process of moving. She remains in her mid 30's and has 2 pre-teen children Emma and Becky. Next is our house. I haven't presented myself yet, so now would be a good time. I'm John (28 ), and I cope with my mum Chrissie (45) and daddy Bob (52 ). Next along are some newcomers. At this time in November, I didn't know their names, so-called them Dick and Helen to myself. Obviously, whenever I talked to them, I used terms like a neighbour to bridge this gap in my understanding. They were a couple, in their late 30's, early 40's, and they appeared to keep themselves to themselves. Last on the row was a chap who worked someplace in the City. I never spoke with him, even though what I'm about to inform you, so this is the last time I mention him.
