We all go along with this, moving through the days, weeks, and years without providing it a 2nd thought. Setting off to work every day, concerned more about what I was going to do with the day rather than what my neighbours would be up to. I started to pick up on when the mums strolled their kids to school when they returned when they headed out shopping, when they took the pet for a walk, and when they sat in the garden. With nothing else to do, my mind filed away the routine times and I would discover myself unconsciously having a cigarette when these ladies tackled their daily routines.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with the majority of the people who stroll past your house. I began with a friendly hey there and progressed to the point where I typically stroll down to the garden gate and have a chat. Most people would interrupt me now, and state that a lot of women in the house do what I do, stop and chat with the other women. I have two replies. One, I'm male, and two, you don't know the half of it all. I think it's time I provided you a total picture of our street and individuals who reside on it. It will can be found in useful later. It's a really little street, 8 semi-detached homes and 1 removed (that's 5 buildings in all). Down the left side (as you stand at the top of the street) there is a uninhabited house, and then next to that is. Next up is Graham's house, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's house, she's a huge Irish female in her 60's. Last on this site is the removed house where Steve and Mandy live with their two teenage boys.

On the right-hand side of the road, we start with Linda's home. She recently separated from her other half and is in the process of moving. She is in her mid 30's and has 2 pre-teen children Emma and Becky. Next is our home. I have not introduced myself yet, so now would be a good time. I'm John (28 ), and I cope with my mum Chrissie (45) and papa Bob (52 ). Next along are some newbies. At this time in November, I didn't understand their names, so-called them Dick and Helen to myself. Naturally, whenever I spoke to them, I used terms like a neighbour to bridge this space in my knowledge. They were a couple, in their late 30's, early 40's, and they seemed to keep themselves to themselves. Last on the row was a chap who worked someplace in the City. I never ever talked to him, even though what I'm about to inform you, so this is the last time I mention him.
