We all go along with this, moving through the days, weeks, and years without giving it a reservation. Here's where I differ from the rest of you. Up up until September, I had been similar to you. We have a no smoking policy in our house, imposed on the bulk (me & my dad) by the minority (my mother). I began to pick up on when the mums walked their kids to school when they came back when they went out shopping, when they took the dog for a walk, and when they sat in the garden.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with the majority of the people who stroll past your home. I began with a friendly hello and advanced to the point where I usually walk down to the garden gate and have a chat.
