I started to detect when the mums strolled their kids to school when they came back when they headed out shopping, when they took the pet for a walk, and when they sat in the garden. With nothing else to do, my mind filed away the regular times and I would discover myself unconsciously having a cigarette when these ladies went about their everyday regimens.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with most of the individuals who stroll past the house. I began with a friendly hey there and advanced to the point where I generally stroll down to the garden gate and have a chat.
