With nothing else to do, my mind filed away the regular times and I would discover myself subconsciously having a cigarette when these females set about their everyday routines.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with the majority of the people who stroll past your home. I began with a friendly hello and advanced to the point where I normally stroll down to the garden gate and have a chat.
