All of us support this, moving through the days, weeks, and years without providing it a doubt. Here's where I differ from the rest of you. Up until September, I had actually been just like you. We have a no smoking policy in our house, imposed on the majority (me & my daddy) by the minority (my mother). This indicates that whenever we want to smoke, we need to stand at the back door. From here, you can see the entrance to our neighbour's home and the fronts of 2 homes across the street. After smoking nearly constantly when the depression embeded in, I started to see the comings and goings of the people in the street. I began to detect when the mums walked their kids to school when they returned when they went out shopping, when they took the pet for a walk, and when they sat in the garden. With absolutely nothing else to do, my mind filed away the regular times and I would discover myself subconsciously having a cigarette when these women went about their daily routines.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with many of the individuals who walk past the home. I started with a friendly hello and progressed to the point where I generally stroll down to the garden gate and have a chat. A lot of people would disrupt me now, and state that a lot of women at home do what I do, stop and talk with the other women. It's a really little street, 8 semi-detached homes and 1 separated (that's 5 structures in all). Down the left side (as you stand at the top of the street) there is a uninhabited home, and then beside that is. where Jody lives. She's a 70 odd-year-old widower, who is always first with any chatter. Next up is Graham's house, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's house, she's a big Irish lady in her 60's. Then last on this website is the separated house where Steve and Mandy live with their two teenage children. They are in their late 30's.

On the right-hand side of the roadway, we start with Linda's home. She just recently separated from her hubby and is in the procedure of moving. She remains in her mid 30's and has 2 pre-teen daughters Emma and Becky. Next is our house. I have not presented myself yet, so now would be a good time.
